  The colored buttons are used as extra buttons that apps can take advantage of. For example if you go to the Guide app on your TV, you can press the red button to quick open the Channel Group menu. If you press the yellow button it will open the TV scheduler. Note it is up the developer of an app to decide whether or not they will use the buttons, so not all apps will support them.

• How do you set up the colored buttons? Since there is no fast forward button on the remote I am wondering if I can use it for my DVR?
• The colored buttons are not programmable. They must be assigned by the app developer to be utilized.

  That blue button under the one for Amazon Prime would have made an excellent Disney+ button. A Plus sign with a silver fine tip sharpie and voila. You have a button even the BabyBoom parents can remember! Oh well here's hoping for the day I don't get the call....' I pressed 1 like you said and now I get nothing but TV static. Are you sure it's not supposed to be on CH 3?'
• You may not be able to set up the colored buttons (makes sense that you should be able to), but you can program your favorite apps to 'Quick Buttons' by holding down the '0' number key on the Smart remote (which says Quick Access), then programming our apps in order 1-8. I think it tells you on the opening menu that you cannot program number 9 (it's a Help button).

• Hold “0” on your LG remote. This will bring up the Quick Access setup. Click the + signs and assign an app to each. Up to 9 apps, even though only 4 colors. Then press a color you chose for that app and long press the associated number. It will open that app “quickly”. Now if you have a universal remote like me for a soundbar i.e. bose, the universal remote will respond to the shortcuts. Bose does not have a home button so I was perplexed on how to open the LG home apps until I figured the above out. ~ cheers!

• bad mistake, recently, i strongly recommended LG cx65 TV to a client hoping it will beat samsung brand

  but i was wrong, remote control sucks, as full control

  it does not even sends the right control commands besides not able to (record, FF, RW ) control buttons handy without going to an additional side menu which an additional step

  also, not having hbo apps available for download,

  slow to turn off TV, very slow to turn on very disappointed

  also to airplay does not work very well

  i thought casting to TV should be a breeze, i found its not , it does not even work

  another major problem, ARC and or eARC didnt work

  another one, you cant even add it to google Home app as display

  after all these issues will never recommend this product again
